Exponeta is a Canadian Financial Planning company founded in 2015 that offers our clients independent and unbiased personalized financial planning services. Our company name is a contraction of the words "exponential" (for exponential growth) and "moneta" (the Latin word for money).
Our History
When we started our careers and began to invest our savings, we met with many financial institutions and researched a great deal of literature on the subject. We came away feeling that the established investment process was not in the favor of the individual investor, particularly those with low to medium net worth.
We were unsatisfied with the high fees (either direct or hidden) for investments and advice, and the lack of personalized service that we received from established institutions.
As a result, we decided to build our own personalized portfolios of low-fee funds. As we developed our portfolios we learned a great deal about personal finance, financial planning, and investing.
We realized that our own experiences in personal finance could be helpful to others that are interested in taking control of their financial future and realizing lower fees on their investments. We founded Exponeta to offer independent and unbiased financial planning services to clients using a transparent and cost effective fee structure.
Who We Are
Jan Owoc, M.Sc., E.I.T.
Jan is an Engineer in Training in the Province of Alberta. Jan graduated from the University of Calgary in 2013 with a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering. He previously graduated from the University of Calgary in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (Distinction) and a Bachelor of Science in Natural Sciences (First Class Honours). He has independently managed his personal investments since 2004.
Reg Selirio, P.Eng.
Reg is a Professional Engineer in the Province of Alberta. Reg graduated from the University of Calgary in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (Distinction). He has independently managed his personal investments since 2004.
